About Me

I was born and raised in Iowa—in a city and not on a farm—where I grew up loving dinosaurs and paleontology, as well as tennis and summers spent at the swimming pool. I received my bachelors degree in geology from Northwestern University and immediately went to work at Chicago's Field Museum as an exhibit developer working on a major dinosaur exhibit. It was the experience of a lifetime but ultimately not something I was interested in pursuing.

When I moved to Puerto Rico several years ago I decided that personal training and fitness instruction would be a great way for me to combine my love of exercise and physical activity, and my dislike for sitting behind a desk. I now hold certifications from the American Council on Exercise as both a personal trainer and a group fitness instructor. I am a certified Level 1 & 2 Mat Pilates Instructor with STOTT PILATES®, and I'm a Keiser Power Pacer indoor cycling instructor. I have worked at several gyms in the San Juan area, spent considerable time instructing at one of the Island's most prestigious hotels, and have now been working as an independent trainer for over a year. It is an incredibly fun and rewarding profession and I look forward to having the opportunity to work with you.
