Personal Training & Pilates

I offer in-home or park-based personal training and Pilates instruction for individuals and small groups in the greater San Juan area. Depending on your goals and interests, you may opt for either personal training or Pilates, or a combination of the two. Regardless of which training method you choose, we will discuss your goals and needs, and I will design a program specifically tailored to meet them.

Small Group Training

Training with a partner or in a small group has many benefits. Studies have shown that people who work out with a friend are much more likely to stay motivated and stick to an exercise plan. It's also a more economical way to train—each person in the group pays less than s/he would pay for individual training. Plus, it's just a lot of fun!


A Word About Equipment

If you own some fitness equipment or live in a building with a gym then we will certainly take advantage of it. However, it is in no way a requirement for effective training. Most people are surprised to learn that they can have a great workout program with pieces of small equipment such as elastic resistance tubing and stability balls. And another bit of good news is that it's not even necessary for you to purchase this equipment--I can provide whatever we will need for each training session.


On-Line Personal Training

This is a great program for someone who needs help designing varied and effective workouts, but doesn't need guidance from a trainer while performing the workout. The program includes:

  • Initial face to face meeting to assess fitness level, discuss and set goals, clarify client preferences, and review equipment options.
  • Two customized exercise programs sent via e-mail each week (8 programs/month).
  • Unlimited e-mail support.
  • Monthly face to face meetings to evaluate progress and reassess goals.

One-Time Consultation and Program Design

This is a very basic service consisting of two parts:

  • Initial face to face meeting to assess fitness level, discuss and set goals, clarify client preferences, and review equipment options.
  • Follow up meeting where I will provide you with your customized exercise program. We will review it together and ensure that you understand all the exercises it contains.
